Changi Airports International (CAI) is both an investor and manager of airports worldwide.
CAI is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Changi Airport Group (CAG). CAG is the operator and manager of the highly acclaimed Changi Airport.
The company is built on the expertise and resources of Singapore's Changi Airport. Since its inception in 1981, the airport has garnered more than 370 international awards testifying to its unrivalled standards of operational efficiency and passenger experience.
In 2011, CAI was conferred the Asia Pacific Airport Investment Company of the Year Award by global growth consulting firm Frost & Sullivan. It was the second time that CAI had won the award, the first being in 2008.
Changi Airport received 42.0 million passengers in 2010. Terminal 3, which opened in January 2008, has increased Singapore Changi Airport's annual handling capacity to about 70 million passengers.
CAI's broad range of business activities include investment in foreign airports, provision of consultancy services and airport management services.
CAI’s investment philosophy is one which recognizes airports as a unique class of assets: a vital part of a country’s transport infrastructure on which its economy, trade and business depend. The analysis of each investment and the choice of value creation strategy are predicated on an intimate knowledge of the processes which underpin the growth of the asset. We determine the route development potential, the untapped efficiencies and the positioning of the assets.
Our consultancy services include the core areas of airport management, airport retail planning and airport master planning.
CAI also provides training services to overseas airports in areas such as airport commercial management, operational efficiency and customer service. Some of our training programmes are conducted, in collaboration with the Singapore Aviation Academy (SAA).

| 2011 |
First direct air link to Sao Paulo, Brazil, was established in March 2011, bringing Changi’s connectivity to six continents globally.
Changi Airport turned 30 this year, having come a long way since it commenced operations on 1 July 1981. |
| 2010 |
Changi closed a successful 2010 with more than 42 million passenger movements, a 13% increase over 2009 and set an annual record in passenger traffic. |
| 2009 |
Changi Airport was corporatized with Changi Airport Group (CAG) formed on 1 July 2009 to undertake key functions focusing on airport operations and management, air hub development, commercial activities and airport emergency services. |
| 2008 |
The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), the owner-operator of Singapore's Changi Airport extended a S$130 million relief package to airlines and airport partners under the Air Hub Development Fund (AHDF).
Changi Airport's Terminal 3 was officially opened by Singapore's Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on 25 July 2008.
Upgrading works on Changi Airport's Terminal 1 commenced in May 2008 and is targeted to be completed in the third quarter of 2011.
Budget Terminal embarked on a S$10 million expansion project to increase the terminal's handling capacity from 2.7 million passengers per annum to 7 million. The project is expected to be completed by May 2009.
Terminal 3 commenced scheduled flight operations on 9 January 2008. |

Budget Terminal opens in March 2006. The upgrading of Terminal 2 with increased passenger handling capacity was completed in mid–2006. |

Planning and design of the Budget Terminal for low cost carriers at Singapore Changi Airport, the first in Asia, commences.
Changi Airports International Pte Ltd, CAI, is established as a subsidiary of CAAS, with the aim to further venture overseas and share Singapore Changi Airport's expertise. |

Starts the upgrading of Terminal 2 which costs 240 million. |
| 2001 |
Singapore Changi Airport takes a further step in overseas airport investment by acquiring a 50% stake in Alterra Partners, which owns equity stakes in Costa Rica, Curacao, Lima and London Luton Airports. |

Construction of Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 3 commences. When completed in 2008, it will be able to handle 20 million passengers annually, raising Singapore Changi Airport's total passenger capacity to 64 million per annum |

Singapore Changi Airport makes its first overseas airport investment by acquiring a 7.1 % stake in Auckland International Airport. |

Singapore Changi Airport's Terminal 2's passenger capacity is expanded to handle up to 23 million passengers annually to meet the double-digit growing traffic. This increases Singapore Changi Airport's total capacity to 44 million passengers per annum |

Singapore Changi Airport Enterprise Pte Ltd (SCAE), a wholly owned subsidiary of Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), is formed. Using Singapore Changi Airport as the model in Airport Management, SCAE starts providing consultancy services to overseas airports |
